> Statement of Faith

As an organization it is important to us that you know our background and who we are, but equally important, who we are not. Our founder comes from a background of deep Christian faith and built the work of Fields of Dreams Uganda as an answer to James 1:27 (NLT) “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

Our work in Uganda conforms to the mercy work that Jesus calls us to throughout the Gospels. We are to love our neighbors well, meet them in their time of need, see their inherent value and worth, all while helping them reach their fullest potential. This work is not without risk and great sacrifice to those that pursue to love and serve well. Due to the difficult history of Uganda and the deep need found in this nation, our leadership have decided to focus their mercy efforts solely on the Pearl of Africa.

We are honored to serve every child at our partner schools regardless of their background, ethnicity, or religious creed. We are honored to have volunteers serve alongside our work that also come from diverse backgrounds, many from the Christian faith, but others that align themselves with other religious sects or come from non-religious backgrounds. We desire to walk alongside good human beings that want to invest in the empowerment of the less fortunate across Uganda.

As an organization we have intentionally decided not to align ourselves with any particular Christian denomination. We have witnessed the negative impacts of well-intentioned people and religious organizations in Uganda and beyond. When the needs of humanity are secondary to pushing a religious agenda, we have far too often seen broken promises and damage to both the local community and culture.

It is our hope that the children we serve understand fully their value and worth as children created in the image of God. It is our hope and prayer that the children we serve understand that they have gifts, passions, and abilities that lead to a life filled with purpose on this earth. It is our hope and prayer that regardless of past trauma and difficulties, that every child we serve can rest in the truth that tomorrow has the potential to be better than today. Hope truly is a basic need!

We are honored to be the hands and feet of Christ in a broken and lost world. We are honored to provide hope, empowerment, and a future to the vulnerable children of Uganda through our programming, and more importantly through our presence in their daily lives. Thank you for your support and partnership in this great work.

Christ and the Church are already at work in Uganda, we are simply joining in the good work that was started centuries ago.
